Welcome to the Panasonic Lumix Award Competition. Please review the following Rules, Terms and conditions of use concerning your participation in this competition.
Panasonic Lumix Award Competition: Terms and Conditions
1. By entering the Lumix Award Competition from Panasonic Marketing Europe GmbH, you accept the Terms and Conditions below.
2. The competition is not open to Panasonic employees nor their family members.
3. No purchase or admission fee is necessary to participate.
4. To enter the competition, participants must submit their digital images on the Lumix Award website at www.panasonic.eu/lumixaward according to the Rules, terms and conditions of the competition. Correct entries will be reviewed, uploaded to the site and then subject to a selection for Shortlist Entries for each month, according to these same terms and conditions.
5. All still images must be digital (not scanned hard copies) and the maximum file size for a single digital still image is 2MB; images that exceed this amount will automatically not be submitted for the competition.
6. Whilst every effort will be made to supply the prizes specified, in the event that they are not available, a product of equal value will be supplied.
7. This competition is only open to the following countries: UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Austria, Belgium, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Greece, Denmark, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Montenegro, Poland, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Switzerland, Turkey, Bosnia, and Portugal.
8. The winner(s) will be announced each month on the Lumix Award website. The decision is final and the result of the decision will not be subject to review.
9. Winners will be notified personally by email and post at the addresses given and winners must confirm receipt of winning notification by contacting Panasonic Marketing Europe GmbH within 21 days of being notified. If the winner fails to contact Panasonic Marketing Europe GmbH after the 21 day period, the prize is withdrawn from the initial winner and another winner will be selected.
10. Prizes will be sent via post to the winners once they have confirmed receipt of winning notification with the Panasonic Marketing Europe GmbH. We may contact you by email or by telephone to confirm that you have received your prize. The winner of the prize will be obligated to sign for the delivery of the prize.
11. Winners names and country of residence will be available from Panasonic Marketing Europe GmbH 21 days after the date of the draw and during six months by sending a self-addressed envelope.
12. None of the prizes will be substituted for cash or for any other prize.
13. The prize winner will be responsible for any taxes and/or additional costs that may be associated with the winning of the prize.
14. The personal contact details you provide will be used for verification, sending prizes, confirmation that you have received your prize in the event that you have won, and/or where you have indicated that you request further information. If you have indicated by ticking the appropriate box, Panasonic will send you details of products and services we think may be of interest to you. However, no information about yourself will be shared with any organisation unconnected with Panasonic.
15. Entrants agree that, in relation to any photographs selected as winning photographs, they grant Panasonic Marketing Europe GmbH and Panasonic Corporation companies and other members of the Panasonic Group an exclusive licence to use images for 5 years at no charge for their marketing and promotional activities. Winners will be given an authorship credit in respect of any published reproductions of their photographs made by Panasonic or its agents.

17. The Promoter reserves the right to remove uploaded images which it, in its absolute discretion, considers may cause offence or may be unsuitable or inappropriate for this competition, for example (without limitation) because of their violent, criminal, religious, political, racial, sexual or exploitative content.
18. The Promoter accepts no liability whatsoever for any damage that may be caused by any prize awarded to any person in this competition.
19. The products given as prizes will enjoy the same warranties and service conditions as products sold as retail products.
20. Lumix Award categories
The competition has 1 category - 'single image'.
The theme for the entries is 'Living Planet’.
The size of your images must be a minimum of 800x600 pixels up to a maximum of 1600x1200 pixels.
NB: images outside this range will not be entered.
The maximum file size for a single image is 2MB.
21. Timing of entries:
Lumix Monthly Award:
For the competition of the month of October 2008, pictures submitted between the 1st of October and the 31st of October will be eligible for the October prize.
For the competition of the month of November 2008, pictures submitted between the 1st of November and the 30th of November will be eligible for the November prize.
For the competition of the month of December 2008, pictures submitted between the 1st of December and the 31st of December will be eligible for the December prize.
For the competition of the month of January 2009, pictures submitted between the 1st of January and the 31st of January will be eligible for the January prize.
For the competition of the month of February 2009, pictures submitted between 1st of February and the 28th of February will be eligible for the February prize.
For the competition of the month of March 2009, pictures submitted between 1st of March and the 31st of March will be eligible for the March prize.
22. The call for entries will be open for 6 months from the 1st October 2008 to 31st March 2009. Entries for the monthly prizes will be automatically entered for the Lumix Award.
23. Entering the Lumix Awards
Once you have decided to enter, submit your photographs taken with your digital camera by:
a) Reading and agreeing to the Rules, Terms and Conditions of the competition:
You must first register by reading all the Rules, Terms and Conditions of this competition. Click in the box saying you have read them and agree to accept them. You will then get to the next page “Registration page”.
b) Then registering for the competition.
This registration page asks for your contact details (name, telephone, address, email address)
All required fields of the registration page must be filled in before going to the next step.
Please check the appropriate box if you are happy for us to send you details of future promotions, news and offers on Panasonic products and services we think may be of interest to you.
c) Finally you can upload your pictures yourself following the technical instructions.
Once you have registered you will receive by email a password and login so that you can upload your photograph. The maximum file size for a single image is 2MB. All pictures must be taken with a Digital Still Camera.
You will upload yourself on the site the image you wish to submit to the competition. We reserve the right to remove any material, which we consider, in our absolute discretion, may be unsuitable, inappropriate or otherwise cause offence. Registered users will be able to view their selected submissions in their own area on the site.

25. Lumix Award:
A panel of judges that will include respected professional photographers will be invited to deliberate on the category winners.
The Lumix Award will be awarded as follows:
On 4 May 2009:
1st Place for the category Single image
Prize: A Lumix Digital Still Camera DMC-G1 and a trip for two to the Eden Project in the UK (details to follow).
2nd Place for the category Single image
Prize: A Lumix Digital Still Camera DMC-LX3
3rd Place for the category Single image
Prize: A Lumix Digital Still Camera DMC-LX3
There will be one overall grand prize winner for the 'Best Image for Lumix Awards'. Prize: The overall winner of the Lumix Award competition will win a Lumix Digital Still Camera DMC-G1. The two runners-ups will receive a Lumix DMC-LX3 Digital Still Camera. The announcement of the Lumix Award winners will be on the May 4, 2009 on the Lumix Award Website.
26. The Lumix Award exhibition
The exhibition of the Lumix Award will exist in a number of formats and showcase. It will primarily show on the Lumix Award website but will also be published in other media to be decided.
As an example, the winning pictures may be shown in the Panasonic General Catalogue. This General Catalogue is printed to approximately 2,5 million copies in many languages across Europe. The winning pictures may be shown in other media as well, such as advertisements, cards, web, etc. As a winner your work could be seen in many different places!
